Hellur! Tyler Perry’s former Atlanta-area chateau is up for sale—or auction 

Fans with deep pockets might want to pounce on the estate in the Chattahoochee Hills neighborhood of Fairburn, Ga., outside Atlanta. The sleek dwelling is available for $4 million and will likely be up for auction soon.

Perry purchased the land for the estate in 2001, then spent nearly two years building the lavish, 16,532-square-foot home to his exacting specifications. He moved into the place in 2003. While he has made other jaw-dropping, residential real estate deals in Atlanta, New York, and Los Angeles, Perry held onto this one until 2018, when he sold it for $2,190,000.

The current owner has attempted to rent out the home for as much as $25,000, and has listed it for sale for as much as $5,950,000 since then. The house was slated to be auctioned off in November, but the auction didn’t take place and will likely be rescheduled for early 2024, according to a Platinum Auctions spokesperson.

Inspired by the grand chateaux of Europe, the six-bedroom, 7.5-bath estate has a gated entry that leads up a landscaped driveway to a circular motor court with a tiered fountain splashing in the center.

The three-story interior features soaring, 20-foot coffered ceilings; a sweeping, mahogany staircase; sparkling, crystal chandeliers; and marble for days. Floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors usher in even more sunlight while showcasing the impeccable grounds.

Speaking of, that pool is infinity-edged and includes a spa. The grounds around it include rolling lawns, an outdoor fireplace, and numerous lounging and dining areas. An expansive terrace overlooks it all.

The property also includes a grassy children’s play area, tiered garden, and meticulously landscaped grounds with ponds, fountains, and cascading waterfalls. Paved stairs lead down to a tiered seating area and a professional-grade tennis court.

The multitalented Perry, 54, has written, directed, produced, and starred in multiple movies, television shows, and plays. Noted for his “Madea” blockbusters, his current net worth is estimated to be $1 billion. Along with television and film projects, he owns and operates a major production studio in Atlanta, one of the largest in the U.S.. Prominent projects, including “The Walking Dead” and “Black Panther,” have been filmed there.
