At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were EML Payments Ltd (ASX:EML), which rose 31.54% or 0.24 points to trade at 0.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Codan Ltd (ASX:CDA) added 8.06% or 0.58 points to end at 7.78 and Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX:MIN) was up 7.97% or 5.13 points to 69.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adbri Ltd (ASX:ABC), which fell 14.60% or 0.40 points to trade at 2.34 at the close. Link Administration Holdings Ltd (ASX:LNK) declined 6.72% or 0.09 points to end at 1.25 and Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:CUV) was down 5.30% or 1.12 points to 20.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 631 to 607 and 437 ended unchanged.
Shares in Link Administration Holdings Ltd (ASX:LNK) fell to all time lows; falling 6.72% or 0.09 to 1.25.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.61% to 11.64.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 4.85 to $1,951.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.22% or 0.18 to hit $80.28 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.19 to trade at $84.06 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 0.64, while AUD/JPY rose 0.18% to 94.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 103.88.
