(Reuters) – Whirlpool (NYSE:WHR) agreed to pay an $11.5 million civil fine to resolve charges by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission that it knowingly failed to immediately report some of its electric radiant heat cooktops posed burn and fire hazards.
