Target Corp. said Wednesday that it will start rolling out its “Drive Up with Starbucks” service across the country, following a successful pilot program that launched about a year ago.
The discount retailer said the chainwide rollout of the service, in which customers can add a Starbucks item to a Drive Up order and have it delivered to their cars for free, is beginning this summer. The service will be available at the more-than 1,700 stores that have both Starbucks Cafés and Drive Up service by October.
“Our guests have long told us Drive Up is a game-changer, adding convenience to their daily life, especially when they’re short on time,” said Chief Stores Officer Mark Schindele. “We’ve continued listening to our guests, who’ve told us overwhelmingly that Drive Up with Starbucks would bring even more ease and joy to every Target run.”

Target said the process works this way: When a customer says they are on their way to pick up their Drive Up order, the customer will receive a prompt that allows them to add items from the Starbucks menu.
The service was first announced as a pilot program to add Starbucks orders to its drive-up service in February 2022, with a rollout in select in the fall of that year.
Target said after the pilot was rolled out, the ability to add a Starbucks menu item to a Drive Up order was the most requested feature from Target customers.
