France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.05%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 2.05% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.18%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 8.91% or 4.13 points to trade at 50.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 5.25% or 0.90 points to end at 18.14 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 4.88% or 1.69 points to 36.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 16.89% or 26.70 points to trade at 131.40 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 1.64% or 2.18 points to end at 131.00 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was down 1.12% or 0.58 points to 51.12.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) which rose 11.94% to 207.20, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) which was up 8.91% to settle at 50.46 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 6.83% to close at 22.20.

The worst performers were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 16.89% to 131.40 in late trade, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which lost 12.58% to settle at 15.98 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 9.34% to 80.10 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 219 and 104 ended unchanged.

Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.25% or 0.90 to 18.14. Shares in Sopra Steria Group SA (EPA:SOPR) rose to all time highs; up 11.94% or 22.10 to 207.20. Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 5-year lows; down 16.89% or 26.70 to 131.40. Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) rose to 5-year highs; up 8.91% or 4.13 to 50.46. Shares in Nexity (EPA:NEXI) fell to 5-year lows; falling 12.58% or 2.30 to 15.98.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.36% or 26.70 to $1,943.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.28% or 1.80 to hit $80.58 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.80% or 1.49 to trade at $84.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.83% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.88% at 101.52.
