France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.11%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.17%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 7.37% or 36.40 points to trade at 530.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 3.22% or 1.90 points to end at 60.88 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was up 2.10% or 0.71 points to 34.46 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which fell 2.80% or 2.06 points to trade at 71.52 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 2.02% or 3.26 points to end at 157.86 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was down 1.78% or 1.64 points to 90.26.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which rose 10.39% to 3.12, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was up 7.37% to settle at 530.40 and Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which gained 6.88% to close at 83.15.

The worst performers were Spie SA (EPA:SPIE) which was down 3.60% to 27.86 in late trade, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which lost 2.80% to settle at 71.52 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 2.61% to 2.68 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 225 and 115 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.01% or 0.25 to $1,981.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.24% or 0.18 to hit $75.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.25 to trade at $79.88 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 100.07.
