https://i-invdn-com.investing.com/news/LYNXNPEE2D0I6_M.jpgIt was reported by Bloomberg earlier in the day that Squarespace will pay around $180 million for the assets associated with the business. The purchase includes roughly 10M domains hosted on Google Domains spread across millions of customers.
“We are exceptionally proud to be chosen to serve the customers of the Google Domains business,” said Anthony Casalena, Founder & CEO of Squarespace.
As part of the deal, Squarespace will honor existing Google Domains customers’ renewal prices for at least 12 months. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023.
Following the news, Squarespace shares jumped over 7% Friday to its highest level since February.
