France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.07%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.67% or 0.73 points to trade at 27.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) added 2.31% or 0.22 points to end at 9.93 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 2.02% or 0.32 points to 16.42 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 3.38% or 9.00 points to trade at 257.60 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 2.11% or 2.80 points to end at 129.76 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 1.29% or 1.98 points to 151.48.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which rose 3.68% to 35.19, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was up 2.67% to settle at 27.84 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which gained 2.51% to close at 18.35.

The worst performers were Television Francaise 1 SA (EPA:TFFP) which was down 3.99% to 7.21 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 3.63% to settle at 2.95 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 3.38% to 257.60 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 262 and 87 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.18% or 3.35 to $1,860.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.31% or 1.05 to hit $79.09 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 1.16 to trade at $85.45 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 103.21.
