The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which rose 3.52% or 1.59 points to trade at 46.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 2.98% or 0.73 points to end at 25.23 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 2.30% or 0.54 points to 24.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 3.68% or 1.57 points to trade at 41.13 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 2.24% or 2.75 points to end at 120.00 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA) was down 2.22% or 0.31 points to 13.77.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Quadient SA (EPA:QDT) which rose 4.73% to 13.28, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which was up 3.54% to settle at 248.50 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) which gained 3.52% to close at 46.80.
The worst performers were Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 4.20% to 102.60 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 3.68% to settle at 41.13 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:PLOF) which was down 2.55% to 13.35 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 297 to 234 and 88 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.52% or 9.35 to $1,810.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.73% or 0.52 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.34 to trade at $75.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.77.
