France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.52%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.52%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.69%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 7.16% or 1.71 points to trade at 25.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 2.62% or 3.05 points to end at 119.25 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 0.87% or 0.44 points to 50.29 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 4.10% or 2.88 points to trade at 67.34 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.86% or 1.01 points to end at 25.05 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 3.70% or 1.23 points to 32.04.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Somfy SA (EPA:DAMA) which rose 21.92% to 144.60, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was up 7.16% to settle at 25.59 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which gained 4.00% to close at 9.49.

The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 10.51% to 1.26 in late trade, Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which lost 7.97% to settle at 1.93 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 7.84% to 10.64 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 360 to 179 and 95 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.95 to $1,777.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.89% or 1.64 to hit $85.28 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 1.28 to trade at $92.58 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 106.23.
