Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.61%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.61%, while the MDAX index declined 1.12%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.65%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which rose 2.99% or 0.83 points to trade at 28.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 1.50% or 2.45 points to end at 165.85 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was up 0.93% or 0.43 points to 46.86 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 5.84% or 1.42 points to trade at 22.88 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 5.62% or 1.29 points to end at 21.68 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) was down 3.46% or 1.84 points to 51.40.

The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 13.36% to 11.03, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was up 2.94% to settle at 30.82 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which gained 2.46% to close at 35.00.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 7.31% to 27.25 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 6.05% to settle at 6.13 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 5.50% to 33.87 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 13.36% to 11.03, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 1.33% to settle at 79.95 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which gained 0.78% to close at 19.50.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was down 7.31% to 27.25 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 4.64% to settle at 17.04 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 2.63% to 18.91 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 443 to 233 and 77 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.00% to 25.16.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.11% or 18.30 to $1,668.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.70% or 1.50 to hit $89.87 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.51% or 1.43 to trade at $96.08 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.70% at 110.58.
