Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.08%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.08% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.11%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.16%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG), which rose 6.55% or 1.72 points to trade at 27.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) added 5.14% or 1.14 points to end at 23.30 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 2.49% or 0.21 points to 8.48 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 3.52% or 0.85 points to trade at 23.33 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 2.20% or 0.56 points to end at 24.64 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was down 2.12% or 0.97 points to 44.81.

The top performers on the MDAX were LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which rose 3.22% to 66.12, Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which was up 3.00% to settle at 79.05 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which gained 2.87% to close at 39.04.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.74% to 63.05 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 2.97% to settle at 35.00 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was down 2.69% to 164.50 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which rose 2.67% to 28.48, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was up 2.52% to settle at 19.91 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 2.51% to close at 122.55.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 4.03% to 49.04 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 3.74% to settle at 63.05 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 3.22% to 22.22 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 401 to 274 and 78 ended unchanged.

Shares in Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) rose to all time highs; rising 3.00% or 2.30 to 79.05.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.57% to 25.24.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 6.05 to $1,638.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.13% or 1.87 to hit $86.03 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.41 to trade at $92.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.70% at 111.39.
