The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 4.16% or 17.90 points to trade at 447.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) added 2.52% or 1.58 points to end at 64.18 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was up 2.51% or 2.55 points to 104.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG), which fell 2.71% or 1.27 points to trade at 45.60 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 2.68% or 0.24 points to end at 8.71 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) was down 1.72% or 0.44 points to 25.09.
The top performers on the MDAX were Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which rose 3.15% to 23.25, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.02% to settle at 23.50 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 2.87% to close at 130.90.
The worst performers were Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 2.44% to 64.66 in late trade, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which lost 1.50% to settle at 44.65 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which was down 1.39% to 162.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 4.16% to 447.80, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 3.02% to settle at 23.50 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 2.87% to close at 130.90.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 2.13% to 50.45 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which lost 0.57% to settle at 2.60 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 0.52% to 22.89 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 370 to 294 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.52% or 0.12 to 22.89.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.20% to 27.32.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.75 to $1,762.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.70% or 0.66 to hit $94.40 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.43 to trade at $100.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 108.64.
