Disney+ is ready to kick of summer with Loki, Luca and Raya.
That would be the long-awaited premiere of the Marvel spinoff “Loki” (June 9), starring Tom Hiddleston as an alternate-timeline version of the mischievous lowercase-g god. Owen Wilson co-stars in the time-travelling buddy action/comedy. In a change from previous Friday Marvel shows, “Loki” will drop new episodes (six in all) every Wednesday.
There’s also “Luca” (June 18), a new animated Pixar film about a pair of sea monsters who take human form and explore the Italian Riviera. It’s the second Pixar movie, after the Oscar-winning “Soul,” to premiere directly on Disney+ for no additional fee, rather than opening in theaters.
Speaking of no additional fee, “Raya and the Last Dragon” (June 4) will finally be available to Disney+ subscribers for no additional fee. (The beautifully animated fantasy/adventure movie landed in March in theaters and on Disney+ for an additional $30.)
