At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.80%, while the MDAX index gained 0.69%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which rose 4.51% or 4.740 points to trade at 109.950 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (DE:LINI) added 3.59% or 7.300 points to end at 210.500 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:BMWG) was up 3.23% or 2.265 points to 72.465 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 2.50% or 3.45 points to trade at 134.30 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) declined 1.37% or 0.465 points to end at 33.485 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 1.17% or 0.430 points to 36.275.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 9.93% to 33.000, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which was up 6.05% to settle at 28.910 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which gained 5.18% to close at 152.400.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 2.97% to 70.35 in late trade, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which lost 1.47% to settle at 43.640 and Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which was down 1.18% to 82.59 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which rose 9.93% to 33.000, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 5.18% to settle at 152.400 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which gained 4.51% to close at 109.950.
The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 3.09% to 235.00 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 1.39% to settle at 25.540 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 1.37% to 33.485 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 462 to 209 and 25 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.10% to 24.58.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.16% or 2.95 to $1852.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.56 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $55.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.2163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8853.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 90.162.
