Israel stocks higher at close of trade; TA 35 up 0.64%

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.64% to hit a new 6-months high.

The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM), which rose 3.73% or 344 points to trade at 9570 at the close. Meanwhile, Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA) added 3.48% or 1180 points to end at 35110 and ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TASE:ICL) was up 3.08% or 53 points to 1776 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE:BEZQ), which fell 2.13% or 7.4 points to trade at 340.0 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TASE:OPK) declined 1.90% or 28 points to end at 1443 and Electra Ltd (TASE:ELTR) was down 1.48% or 2600 points to 173650.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 218 to 206 and 24 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.73% or 344 to 9570. Shares in ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TASE:ICL) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.08% or 53 to 1776.

Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.39% or 0.73 to $53.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.37% or 1.30 to hit $56.05 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.63% or 11.55 to trade at $1841.45 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was up 0.53% to 3.2493, while EUR/ILS rose 0.89% to 3.9379.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 90.528.
