At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.27%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.66%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 1.66% or 1.95 points to trade at 119.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) added 1.06% or 0.96 points to end at 91.31 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was up 0.82% or 0.96 points to 117.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn), which fell 2.00% or 5.00 points to trade at 245.55 at the close. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 1.94% or 5.75 points to end at 290.11 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) was down 1.56% or 0.680 points to 42.900.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which rose 5.89% to 62.00, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 4.60% to settle at 35.720 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which gained 3.91% to close at 74.32.
The worst performers were Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which was down 2.80% to 47.965 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 2.60% to settle at 7.638 and Alstria Office Reit-Ag (DE:AOXG) which was down 2.42% to 14.540 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which rose 4.60% to 35.720, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 4.02% to settle at 21.220 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 3.40% to close at 20.990.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.31% to 92.300 in late trade, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which lost 1.24% to settle at 111.200 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 1.06% to 18.70 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 354 to 322 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) rose to all time highs; rising 5.89% or 3.45 to 62.00. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 4.02% or 0.820 to 21.220.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.79% to 24.07.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.11% or 2.10 to $1888.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.26% or 0.61 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.03% or 0.53 to trade at $52.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.2236, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.9069.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 89.987.
