France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.14%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.14%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.05%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which rose 5.66% or 0.94 points to trade at 17.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) added 5.44% or 0.53 points to end at 10.20 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 4.87% or 2.90 points to 62.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which fell 1.04% or 2.90 points to trade at 276.30 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) declined 1.14% or 0.88 points to end at 76.00 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was down 0.98% or 0.76 points to 76.74.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which rose 7.75% to 20.30, Covivio SA (PA:CVO) which was up 6.93% to settle at 73.25 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which gained 6.51% to close at 14.73.

The worst performers were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which was down 3.65% to 77.90 in late trade, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which lost 2.84% to settle at 294.40 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which was down 2.51% to 66.35 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 380 to 204 and 80 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.36% to 21.03.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.86% or 33.05 to $1813.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.29% or 1.04 to hit $44.30 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 0.72 to trade at $47.16 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.87% to 1.2032, while EUR/GBP rose 0.59% to 0.9004.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 91.438.
