France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.41%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.41% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.35%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 5.25% or 1.62 points to trade at 32.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Total SA (PA:TOTF) added 4.83% or 1.67 points to end at 36.16 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 4.47% or 2.50 points to 58.44 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 2.71% or 4.30 points to trade at 154.25 at the close. Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) declined 2.63% or 1.12 points to end at 41.50 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was down 2.59% or 1.36 points to 51.14.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 13.73% to 23.890, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was up 9.97% to settle at 0.914 and Renault SA (PA:RENA) which gained 5.25% to close at 32.47.

The worst performers were JC Decaux SA (PA:JCDX) which was down 4.59% to 18.72 in late trade, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) which lost 2.71% to settle at 154.25 and Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which was down 2.63% to 41.50 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 371 to 221 and 81 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.35% to 21.84.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.18% or 40.75 to $1831.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.16% or 0.49 to hit $42.91 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 0.77 to trade at $45.84 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1818, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8889.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 92.657.
