Former UBS and Citigroup trader Tom Hayes is to be released from prison in January after serving more than five years for rigging the Libor benchmark.

Hayes was convicted of rigging the London interbank offered rate in 2015 and has served about half of his 11-year sentence.

Hayes will be released from prison on Jan. 29, according to his lawyer Karen Todner.

Todner told Financial News that she hoped that a Criminal Cases Review Commission would refer his case back to the Court of Appeal — to learn more, see the full story on Financial News.
