Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 1.09%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.09% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index gained 0.11%, and the TecDAX index added 0.14%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 1.19% or 0.520 points to trade at 44.230 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 0.55% or 0.75 points to end at 136.20 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was up 0.22% or 0.070 points to 31.315 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which fell 2.76% or 3.78 points to trade at 133.08 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 2.49% or 0.173 points to end at 6.774 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was down 2.45% or 2.78 points to 110.91.

The top performers on the MDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 3.30% to 344.000, Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was up 2.68% to settle at 25.260 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 1.79% to close at 42.60.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 5.40% to 4.365 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which lost 3.27% to settle at 7.050 and Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 2.91% to 31.36 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 3.30% to 344.000, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 2.04% to settle at 249.50 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 1.79% to close at 42.60.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.88% to 70.140 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 2.34% to settle at 10.440 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was down 2.05% to 22.940 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 356 to 326 and 64 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) fell to all time lows; falling 3.27% or 0.238 to 7.050.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.52% to 29.20.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.55% or 10.30 to $1866.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.35% or 0.14 to hit $40.17 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.10 to trade at $41.84 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1622, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.9148.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 94.745.
