Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.29%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.29%, while the MDAX index lost 1.31%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.98%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 1.83% or 1.60 points to trade at 88.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) added 1.17% or 1.12 points to end at 97.12 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was up 1.14% or 1.28 points to 113.69 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which fell 2.51% or 7.15 points to trade at 277.50 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 2.38% or 3.30 points to end at 135.45 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) was down 2.10% or 1.990 points to 92.820.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which rose 1.51% to 4.222, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was up 1.47% to settle at 103.400 and Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which gained 1.25% to close at 50.14.

The worst performers were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 5.53% to 24.600 in late trade, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which lost 3.93% to settle at 32.30 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was down 3.90% to 4.614 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which rose 1.47% to 103.400, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was up 0.62% to settle at 244.50 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which gained 0.54% to close at 43.595.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 3.85% to 106.100 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 3.59% to settle at 22.020 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 3.17% to 10.690 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 465 to 195 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.25% or 0.62 to 50.14.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.27% to 29.65.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.48% or 9.00 to $1877.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.23% or 0.09 to hit $40.02 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.06 to trade at $41.71 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1674, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.9143.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.328.
