Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 2.07%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 2.07% to hit a new 6-months high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.35%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.88%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn), which rose 4.89% or 0.717 points to trade at 15.367 at the close. Meanwhile, Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) added 4.89% or 12.40 points to end at 266.20 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was up 3.78% or 5.85 points to 160.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 0.80% or 0.064 points to trade at 7.897 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) added 0.18% or 0.25 points to end at 140.48 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was up 0.18% or 0.070 points to 38.425.

The top performers on the MDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which rose 6.78% to 80.350, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 4.73% to settle at 82.360 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 4.59% to close at 42.82.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was down 2.91% to 42.68 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 2.43% to settle at 4.746 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which was down 2.22% to 44.05 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which rose 6.78% to 80.350, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) which was up 4.89% to settle at 15.367 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 4.73% to close at 82.360.

The worst performers were New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 3.03% to 240.00 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 2.22% to settle at 44.05 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was down 0.18% to 22.260 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 214 and 71 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.49% to 27.37.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.82% or 36.10 to $1942.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.43% or 1.04 to hit $41.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.04% or 0.93 to trade at $44.65 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1844, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8887.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 92.733.
