At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.43%, while the MDAX index lost 0.05%, and the TecDAX index added 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which rose 1.75% or 0.180 points to trade at 10.440 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 1.24% or 0.400 points to end at 32.755 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 0.65% or 0.56 points to 86.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which fell 5.29% or 0.117 points to trade at 2.095 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 2.97% or 4.80 points to end at 156.85 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 2.43% or 0.545 points to 21.890.
The top performers on the MDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 8.87% to 338.600, Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which was up 3.41% to settle at 100.76 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which gained 2.93% to close at 70.90.
The worst performers were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 6.45% to 22.340 in late trade, Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which lost 4.81% to settle at 71.30 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 4.64% to 8.884 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which rose 8.87% to 338.600, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 2.49% to settle at 41.975 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which gained 2.10% to close at 47.63.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which was down 5.29% to 2.095 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 3.00% to settle at 88.950 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.91% to 117.600 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 381 to 282 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) rose to all time highs; gaining 8.87% or 27.600 to 338.600. Shares in Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.93% or 2.02 to 70.90. Shares in Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) rose to all time highs; gaining 8.87% or 27.600 to 338.600. Shares in Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) rose to all time highs; up 2.49% or 1.020 to 41.975.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.24% to 28.40 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.83% or 15.05 to $1798.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.07% or 0.44 to hit $40.76 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.12% or 0.49 to trade at $43.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.1398, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.9061.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 96.138.
