The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which rose 1.54% or 0.37 points to trade at 24.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) added 0.76% or 0.48 points to end at 63.78 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was up 0.75% or 0.54 points to 72.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 5.75% or 0.57 points to trade at 9.39 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 3.28% or 1.90 points to end at 56.10 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was down 2.99% or 2.74 points to 88.82.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which rose 3.35% to 2.34, Verallia (PA:VRLA) which was up 2.81% to settle at 25.65 and Covivio SA (PA:CVO) which gained 2.61% to close at 68.80.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 5.75% to 9.39 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which lost 4.73% to settle at 34.06 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 4.49% to 5.42 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 354 to 219 and 75 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.95% to 32.90.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.35% or 6.05 to $1729.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.03% or 0.77 to hit $38.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.67% or 0.68 to trade at $41.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.9019.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 97.502.
