Another candidate may be joining the 2020 presidential race: Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan said he’s looking “closely” at a run in the wake of President Donald Trump’s comments about having total authority over states.
Amash, an independent, is a former Republican who left the GOP last summer. The congressman on Monday said on Twitter that “Americans who believe in limited government deserve another option,” after Trump told reporters he had authority over when states ease restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.
