Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the gained 1.83%, while the index added 1.56%.

The best performers of the session on the were Societe Generale SA (PA:), which rose 10.30% or 1.60 points to trade at 17.15 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) added 6.54% or 0.49 points to end at 8.03 and Accor SA (PA:) was up 6.49% or 1.48 points to 24.27 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:), which fell 7.18% or 0.45 points to trade at 5.84 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) declined 3.82% or 0.72 points to end at 18.27 and Capgemini SE (PA:) was down 3.35% or 2.42 points to 69.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:) which rose 13.10% to 450.60, Air France KLM SA (PA:) which was up 12.69% to settle at 4.80 and Societe Generale SA (PA:) which gained 10.30% to close at 17.15.

The worst performers were Elis Services SA (PA:) which was down 9.23% to 9.98 in late trade, Quadient SA (PA:) which lost 9.13% to settle at 13.93 and GTT (PA:) which was down 8.61% to 61.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 323 to 298 and 50 ended unchanged.

Shares in TechnipFMC PLC (PA:) fell to all time lows; falling 7.18% or 0.45 to 5.84. Shares in Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.82% or 0.72 to 18.27. Shares in Capgemini SE (PA:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.35% or 2.42 to 69.80. Shares in Elis Services SA (PA:) fell to all time lows; falling 9.23% or 1.01 to 9.98. Shares in Quadient SA (PA:) fell to all time lows; down 9.13% or 1.40 to 13.93. Shares in GTT (PA:) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.61% or 5.80 to 61.60.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 6.18% to 63.58 a new 5-year high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 4.30% or 68.35 to $1521.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.79% or 0.88 to hit $32.38 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 3.91% or 1.30 to trade at $34.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.90% to 1.1082, while EUR/GBP rose 0.91% to 0.8974.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.15% at 98.585.
