The worst performers of the session were Advantest Corp. (T:), which fell 5.75% or 330.0 points to trade at 5410.0 at the close. Taiyo Yuden Co., Ltd. (T:) declined 5.66% or 200.0 points to end at 3335.0 and Unitika, Ltd. (T:) was down 5.61% or 21.0 points to 353.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 3077 to 587 and 128 ended unchanged.
