The worst performers of the session were Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (T:), which fell 4.35% or 106.0 points to trade at 2331.0 at the close. Unitika, Ltd. (T:) declined 3.89% or 14.0 points to end at 346.0 and Rakuten Inc (T:) was down 3.80% or 35.0 points to 886.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2636 to 959 and 196 ended unchanged.
