The best performers of the session on the were Bayer AG NA (DE:), which rose 2.94% or 2.10 points to trade at 73.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:) added 1.03% or 0.660 points to end at 65.000 and Merck KGaA (DE:) was up 0.86% or 0.90 points to 105.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:), which fell 2.25% or 0.159 points to trade at 6.907 at the close. Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:) declined 1.36% or 0.470 points to end at 34.015 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:) was down 1.29% or 0.215 points to 16.460.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:) which rose 3.59% to 10.400, Drillisch AG (DE:) which was up 2.76% to settle at 22.300 and GEA Group AG (DE:) which gained 2.10% to close at 30.150.
The worst performers were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.74% to 5.431 in late trade, Siltronic AG (DE:) which lost 1.40% to settle at 90.100 and Dialog Semiconductor (DE:) which was down 1.23% to 45.610 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Drillisch AG (DE:) which rose 2.76% to 22.300, United Internet AG NA (DE:) which was up 2.03% to settle at 29.710 and New Work SE (DE:) which gained 2.03% to close at 277.00.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 3.30% to 12.020 in late trade, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:) which lost 3.07% to settle at 16.40 and Siltronic AG (DE:) which was down 1.40% to 90.100 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 368 to 316 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bayer AG NA (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.94% or 2.10 to 73.60. Shares in GEA Group AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.10% or 0.620 to 30.150.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.53% or 7.85 to $1488.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.25% or 0.15 to hit $60.59 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.24 to trade at $66.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1090, while EUR/GBP rose 0.62% to 0.8577.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.280.
