The worst performers of the session were Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (T:), which fell 6.82% or 51.0 points to trade at 697.0 at the close. Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (T:) declined 3.56% or 34.0 points to end at 922.0 and JGC Corp. (T:) was down 3.21% or 58.0 points to 1747.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2405 to 1184 and 221 ended unchanged.
