Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the declined 0.24%, while the index lost 0.26%.

The best performers of the session on the were Capgemini SE (PA:), which rose 0.83% or 0.90 points to trade at 108.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (PA:) added 0.73% or 4.00 points to end at 551.90 and Hermes International SCA (PA:) was up 0.50% or 3.40 points to 679.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (PA:), which fell 1.58% or 0.59 points to trade at 36.72 at the close. Renault SA (PA:) declined 1.45% or 0.64 points to end at 43.30 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:) was down 1.34% or 0.170 points to 12.485.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:) which rose 3.44% to 4.15, Quadient SA (PA:) which was up 1.98% to settle at 19.58 and Vallourec (PA:) which gained 1.48% to close at 2.398.

The worst performers were Genfit (PA:) which was down 3.24% to 14.030 in late trade, Ipsen SA (PA:) which lost 3.14% to settle at 101.90 and Soitec SA (PA:) which was down 3.12% to 111.900 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 303 to 265 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Kering SA (PA:) rose to all time highs; rising 0.73% or 4.00 to 551.90. Shares in Renault SA (PA:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.45% or 0.64 to 43.30. Shares in Hermes International SCA (PA:) rose to all time highs; rising 0.50% or 3.40 to 679.60.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.71% to 11.98.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.09% or 1.30 to $1462.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.22% or 0.13 to hit $58.24 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.26 to trade at $63.27 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1008, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8531.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 98.295.
