There’s a silver lining to buying a new TV during Black Friday week.

“Black Friday is not just when TVs tend to fall to their lowest prices all year, it’s also the sheer number of deals that makes this a great time to upgrade,” Kristin McGrath, shopping expert and editor at BlackFriday.com, tells MarketWatch. And Sara Skirboll, shopping and trends expert for RetailMeNot tells MarketWatch, “Televisions are only deeply discounted 2-3 times per year, and discounts of 20%, 30% or 40% off can go a long way on an item with a high sticker price.”

This year, look for great deals on big 4K TVs and smart TVs, experts say. 4K TVs offer an extremely sharp picture, and smart TVs have everything from built-in web browsers, support for apps and voice recognition to the ability to play games, check social media, and even control an entire house of devices. “4K has been pushed for the past several years, and every year the trend is more screen for a lower price,” says McGrath. Adds Paul Hernandez, SVP of sales for Vizio: “You’re going to see a big focus on the smart features of your next TV.”

Of course, you have to make sure you’re getting a good product too: “Know that a lot of those dramatic door-busters may be on cheaper, lower-quality brands and models, so look at the model numbers in retailer Black Friday ads and do some research,” says McGrath.

Here are nine of the best TV deals, according to experts. Note that most of these deals are available now, but some you will need to wait for until Thanksgiving or Black Friday.
