The worst performers of the session were Showa Denko K.K. (T:), which fell 6.00% or 185.0 points to trade at 2900.0 at the close. Shimizu Corp. (T:) declined 3.94% or 43.0 points to end at 1049.0 and Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (T:) was down 2.99% or 160.0 points to 5200.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1825 to 1712 and 241 ended unchanged.
