Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the fell 0.42%, while the index declined 0.35%.

The best performers of the session on the were Peugeot SA (PA:), which rose 1.31% or 0.31 points to trade at 24.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (PA:) added 1.26% or 1.04 points to end at 83.72 and Vivendi SA (PA:) was up 1.04% or 0.26 points to 25.17 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (PA:), which fell 4.17% or 6.95 points to trade at 159.65 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (PA:) declined 2.03% or 0.395 points to end at 19.025 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:) was down 1.75% or 0.37 points to 20.72.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsen SA (PA:) which rose 3.89% to 96.10, Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:) which was up 3.77% to settle at 124.00 and Iliad (PA:) which gained 3.76% to close at 91.58.

The worst performers were Faurecia (PA:) which was down 6.52% to 42.02 in late trade, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:) which lost 4.17% to settle at 159.65 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:) which was down 3.27% to 425.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 258 and 107 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.77% or 4.50 to 124.00.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.51% to 14.36.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 4.60 to $1498.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.37% or 0.20 to hit $53.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.30 to trade at $59.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1127, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8659.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 97.322.
