(T:) added 4.06% or 140.0 points to end at 3585.0 and Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. (T:) was up 3.90% or 2550.0 points to 68000.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Olympus Corp. (T:), which fell 2.90% or 43.0 points to trade at 1439.0 at the close. Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (T:) declined 2.79% or 78.0 points to end at 2719.0 and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (T:) was down 2.43% or 37.0 points to 1485.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2257 to 1256 and 222 ended unchanged.

USD/JPY was down 0.20% to 108.62, while EUR/JPY fell 0.17% to 119.85.
