Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders has canceled his events and appearances after being hospitalized yesterday evening, his top campaign adviser Jeff Weaver announced on Wednesday.
Sanders was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening in Las Vegas after experiencing chest discomfort during a campaign event.
“Following medical evaluation and testing, he was found to have a blockage in one artery and two stents were successfully inserted,” Weaver said.
Weaver said Sanders is conversing and is in good spirits and will be resting “over the next few days.”
All appearances have been canceled until further notice.
The next Democratic debate ahead of the 2020 election is scheduled for Oct. 15.
