The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Sumitomo Realty & Development Co. (TYO:8830), which rose 8.08% or 391.00 points to trade at 5,232.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (TYO:8804) added 7.34% or 162.50 points to end at 2,377.50 and Tokyu Fudosan (TYO:3289) was up 5.83% or 64.50 points to 1,170.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO:5541), which fell 3.17% or 44.00 points to trade at 1,346.00 at the close. Terumo Corp. (TYO:4543) declined 2.65% or 154.00 points to end at 5,654.00 and Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TYO:9501) was down 2.55% or 21.10 points to 807.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2541 to 1098 and 237 ended unchanged.

(TYO:8804) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 7.34% or 162.50 to 2,377.50. Shares in Tokyu Fudosan (TYO:3289) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.83% or 64.50 to 1,170.50.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 0.49% to 20.23.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.22% or 0.18 to $81.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.22% or 0.19 to hit $86.70 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 5.55 to trade at $2,158.75 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.78% to 150.30, while EUR/JPY rose 0.73% to 163.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 103.43.
