Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.21%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.21% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index declined 0.26%, and the TecDAX index added 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 2.91% or 8.90 points to trade at 314.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) added 1.43% or 0.55 points to end at 39.12 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) was up 1.16% or 1.88 points to 164.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 2.47% or 0.55 points to trade at 21.73 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 2.46% or 0.28 points to end at 11.09 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was down 2.13% or 4.05 points to 185.95.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (ETR:RAAG) which rose 3.01% to 650.50, Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was up 2.61% to settle at 6.14 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which gained 2.43% to close at 31.18.

The worst performers were Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was down 8.76% to 13.39 in late trade, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which lost 4.11% to settle at 53.70 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 3.06% to 15.53 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 33.84% to 33.18, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 3.10% to settle at 34.54 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 2.91% to close at 314.70.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 1.89% to 59.80 in late trade, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which lost 1.72% to settle at 68.40 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 1.13% to 21.08 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 335 to 310 and 29 ended unchanged.

Shares in Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 33.84% or 8.39 to 33.18.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.73.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.81% or 16.25 to $1,998.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $71.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.12% or 0.09 to trade at $75.75 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 103.79.
