France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.88%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.88%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 3.08% or 1.09 points to trade at 36.33 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.61% or 1.07 points to end at 42.06 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.44% or 2.80 points to 117.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which fell 1.16% or 0.60 points to trade at 51.31 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 0.84% or 1.35 points to end at 158.60 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 0.82% or 0.11 points to 13.29.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which rose 3.08% to 36.33, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was up 3.06% to settle at 27.65 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which gained 2.85% to close at 12.47.

The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 5.37% to 1.40 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 5.07% to settle at 5.34 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 4.51% to 5.08 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 275 to 239 and 98 ended unchanged.

Shares in Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) fell to 5-year lows; falling 0.82% or 0.11 to 13.29. Shares in Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) fell to all time lows; falling 5.07% or 0.28 to 5.34. Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; losing 4.51% or 0.24 to 5.08.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.61% or 11.25 to $1,843.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.41% or 0.34 to hit $82.65 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.35 to trade at $84.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 105.89.
