France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.39%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.39%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.90%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which rose 0.36% or 0.04 points to trade at 11.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Danone SA (EPA:DANO) added 0.04% or 0.02 points to end at 53.81 and Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) was down 0.12% or 0.04 points to 33.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 12.05% or 3.19 points to trade at 23.28 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 3.36% or 4.20 points to end at 120.80 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 2.56% or 0.72 points to 27.38.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 6.54% to 0.78, Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was up 1.72% to settle at 183.50 and Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which gained 0.74% to close at 46.34.

The worst performers were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was down 14.34% to 8.46 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which lost 13.76% to settle at 1.87 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which was down 12.05% to 23.28 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 372 to 141 and 114 ended unchanged.

Shares in ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 14.34% or 1.41 to 8.46.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.33% or 6.35 to $1,952.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.34% or 0.31 to hit $90.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.19 to trade at $94.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 104.72.
