France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.12%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.30%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 1.48% or 2.50 points to trade at 171.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 0.97% or 1.28 points to end at 133.84 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was up 0.72% or 0.13 points to 17.53 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 1.24% or 0.32 points to trade at 25.45 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 1.01% or 0.44 points to end at 43.67 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 0.96% or 0.14 points to 14.89.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 4.05% to 7.35, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 2.85% to settle at 43.98 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 1.85% to close at 12.39.

The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 16.54% to 63.60 in late trade, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which lost 9.16% to settle at 3.23 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 5.22% to 27.41 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 295 to 209 and 103 ended unchanged.

Shares in Verallia (EPA:VRLA) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.85% or 1.22 to 43.98.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 7.75 to $1,972.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.32% or 0.26 to hit $81.42 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.14 to trade at $85.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 103.07.
