The 202 sales orders for the purpose-built heavy-duty trucks represent 18 end customers.

“This remarkable demand for our hydrogen fuel cell electric truck confirms the industry’s trend toward sustainable transportation solutions,” said Nikola President and CEO Michael Lohscheller.

The Nikola Coolidge, Arizona manufacturing facility recently initiated series production of the trucks, with deliveries scheduled to commence later this year. Some will follow the successful completion of a demonstration program.

“We are proud to achieve this milestone of 202 sales orders together with our dealer network, as we believe it demonstrates the level of confidence our customers and stakeholders have in our vision and technology,” added Lohscheller.

Nikola’s pioneering hydrogen fuel cell electric truck boasts an impressive range of up to 500 miles and an estimated fueling time of about 20 minutes. It is anticipated to offer one of the most extended ranges among all commercially available zero tailpipe emission Class 8 trucks.

Shares of NKLA are down 5.77% in mid-day trading Wednesday.
