France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.36%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.37%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 4.97% or 1.81 points to trade at 38.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) added 4.14% or 0.60 points to end at 15.00 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 3.44% or 0.53 points to 16.01 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 3.01% or 5.24 points to trade at 168.70 at the close. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) declined 1.59% or 2.75 points to end at 169.75 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.43% or 0.82 points to 56.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which rose 12.60% to 98.30, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which was up 4.97% to settle at 38.27 and Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which gained 4.17% to close at 36.00.

The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 32.27% to 5.09 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 12.23% to settle at 1.95 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was down 3.52% to 28.54 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 267 to 245 and 106 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.19% or 3.70 to $1,918.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.47% or 0.33 to hit $69.89 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.28 to trade at $74.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 102.96.
