France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.27%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.28%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 2.61% or 0.71 points to trade at 27.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 1.51% or 0.23 points to end at 15.18 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was up 1.51% or 0.41 points to 27.59 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 1.48% or 0.55 points to trade at 36.56 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 1.23% or 1.75 points to end at 140.20 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.16% or 0.72 points to 61.44.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rexel (EPA:RXL) which rose 5.38% to 21.16, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 5.18% to settle at 34.94 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 4.79% to close at 20.77.

The worst performers were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 2.85% to 26.25 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 2.74% to settle at 88.60 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 2.20% to 15.14 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 263 to 255 and 108 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.17% or 22.85 to $1,981.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.41% or 1.75 to hit $70.78 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 1.64 to trade at $75.31 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 103.29.
