Li Auto delivers over 28,000 vehicles in May, expects strong sales momentum

Results went up by 10.1% compared to April’s 25,681, which had already seen a 23.3% jump from March. The startup had estimated delivering 76,000-81,000 electric vehicles in Q2. Based on the sales in April and May, it suggests that Li expects to sell around 22,042-27,042 vehicles in June. This means the sales forecast could be revised higher.

“In May, Li Auto’s monthly gross sales exceeded RMB10 billion for the first time in our history, laying a solid foundation for us to reach the sales target of RMB100 billion in 2023. The full-scale upgrade of our organizational processes has comprehensively strengthened our operating capabilities, advancing both our operating quality and efficiency in an upward spiral. Our smart electric vehicles and organizational processes are the two most critical strengths of Li Auto,” commented Xiang Li, chairman and chief executive officer of Li Auto.

Shares of LI are down 1.2% in pre-market trading on Thursday.
