France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.59%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.59%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.60%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 1.92% or 3.00 points to trade at 159.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 1.77% or 0.48 points to end at 27.63 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 1.13% or 1.55 points to 138.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 4.12% or 2.68 points to trade at 62.30 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.71% or 15.30 points to end at 549.20 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was down 1.83% or 0.67 points to 35.60.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which rose 3.25% to 15.24, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was up 2.56% to settle at 24.02 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 2.46% to close at 2.91.

The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 4.83% to 2.56 in late trade, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which lost 4.12% to settle at 62.30 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 4.03% to 7.14 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 287 to 231 and 94 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.26% or 5.25 to $2,038.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.82% or 0.60 to hit $72.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.80 to trade at $76.21 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 101.50.
