France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.14%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.14%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.22%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP), which rose 1.72% or 7.25 points to trade at 429.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 1.63% or 32.00 points to end at 1,996.20 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was up 1.30% or 11.50 points to 896.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 7.97% or 2.92 points to trade at 33.70 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 5.31% or 0.90 points to end at 16.05 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was down 4.32% or 1.28 points to 28.35.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 3.87% to 3.31, Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which was up 2.79% to settle at 15.66 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) which gained 1.72% to close at 429.55.

The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 8.89% to 254.20 in late trade, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which lost 7.97% to settle at 33.70 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was down 7.21% to 19.70 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 191 and 103 ended unchanged.

Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.72% or 7.25 to 429.55. Shares in Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) rose to all time highs; up 1.63% or 32.00 to 1,996.20. Shares in LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) rose to all time highs; rising 1.30% or 11.50 to 896.50. Shares in Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.89% or 24.80 to 254.20. Shares in L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.72% or 7.25 to 429.55.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.50% or 10.05 to $2,017.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.98% or 1.57 to hit $77.67 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.12% or 1.76 to trade at $81.36 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.51.
