France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.32%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.26%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 5.89% or 3.20 points to trade at 57.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 2.48% or 0.51 points to end at 21.30 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 2.02% or 0.76 points to 38.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 3.84% or 1.07 points to trade at 26.80 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 2.61% or 1.02 points to end at 38.09 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 1.65% or 2.74 points to 163.26.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 6.46% to 0.76, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which was up 5.89% to settle at 57.56 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 4.60% to close at 20.56.

The worst performers were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 4.57% to 32.80 in late trade, Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which lost 4.39% to settle at 283.00 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 3.97% to 14.02 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 282 to 275 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.90% or 17.95 to $2,004.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 6.49% or 4.91 to hit $80.58 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 6.25% or 4.99 to trade at $84.88 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 101.86.
