At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Perenti Global Ltd (ASX:PRN), which rose 6.64% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Omni Bridgeway Ltd (ASX:OBL) added 5.56% or 0.16 points to end at 3.04 and South32 Ltd (ASX:S32) was up 5.15% or 0.23 points to 4.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lynas Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:LYC), which fell 6.81% or 0.57 points to trade at 7.80 at the close. Platinum Asset Management Ltd (ASX:PTM) declined 6.49% or 0.13 points to end at 1.80 and EML Payments Ltd (ASX:EML) was down 5.26% or 0.03 points to 0.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 703 to 571 and 371 ended unchanged.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 0.42% to 12.27.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.43% or 7.90 to $1,837.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.51% or 0.40 to hit $77.29 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.42 to trade at $83.89 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.45% to 0.67, while AUD/JPY rose 0.03% to 92.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 104.73.
